The Palazzetto
The Palazzetto, like Palazzo Vendramin, is a historic landmark built on the ruins of the imposing Palazzo Nani Barbaro, which was destroyed in the eighteenth Century. It connects the Palazzo Vendramin to the Granaries of the Republic.
The Palazzetto was once the seat of the Accademia di Filosofia, founded by Ermolao Barbaro.
The three buildings have a total of 30 windows, enjoying beautiful views over the basin of San Marco, where the water traffic is so fascinating because of the passage, not only of gondolas or motor boats, but also of the largest cruise ships of the world entering the port of Venice.
The Palazzetto is connected to Palazzo Vendramin and shares its atmosphere of relaxed elegance, refined simplicity and the discreet service of private butlers. With five junior suites overlooking St. Mark's Square and a team of highly trained staff, your every need is catered for.
The interior décor is a soothing combination of pastel coloured walls, which blend perfectly with the precious Rubelli and Fortuny fabrics and light furniture. A fully-equipped kitchenette in each suite completes the feeling of a home away from home.
